Maeve Doolan is a mixed media artist and teacher whose artwork and pedagogy are

influenced by her love for learning to work with new mediums. She grew up on a small horse

farm in Connecticut and works as a residential faculty member at a private high school in

Massachusetts. She was formally trained as a painter and sculptor. She gravitates toward

traditional techniques, as well as experimentation with alternative mediums and processes such

as veneer, LED lights, and beads. In her work, she engages with the senses to talk about bodily

awareness and the benefits of being connected to one’s body. She often pulls elements from pop

culture such as air fresheners, stickers, and googly eyes, to express and reflect the time in which

she lives.
